You can mount a trolling motor well on a 222. It does need to be 36v, and I think it’s a 60" shaft? But my friend has one and I will too, soon. Granted it will not run well if the water is too rough, but it is sweet the rest of the time…for slow trolling or electronic anchoring. And it can be easily removed with the bracket mount.

I have a 36v 60 inch on my boat right now, so that works for me…good to know that. I rarely troll, but I use the heck out of the anchor feature and love it.

Were the kids optional or did they come as a package deal? Just kidding. Great looking boat and family.

How shallow do you typically go with the 222? Its been on and off my shortlist for a while but I feel like if I’m going to spend that money I want something more like a 24-25ft. Knowing it’ll take the trolling motor well is good to know.

Look into Rhodan trolling motors. That’s what I went with on my Sea Hunt 220 and only needed the 24v with a 72" shaft. They are pricey, but the anchor lock is more precise than the Minn Kota that I had previously. Also it’s nice to not have to stow a 3rd battery. It’s held great and even pulled the boat in some nasty chop and currents. My only gripe is the remote isn’t as user friendly and doesn’t have as many options as the MK. Either way I can’t imagine not having a GPS trolling motor on a boat anymore.

Regarding the Rhodan trolling motor…I too have heard it has a more precise anchor versus a MinnKota. My MK on previous 197 was adequate for fishing over a reef or structure but wandered too much for fishing close to a bridge for spades. Otherwise MK did well. Friends going to new MK with auto deploy but they may not offer that feature on 36v yet.
