New Boat Pioneer 222 SF

We got a new boat this past Wednesday, unfortunately the weather has prevented us from getting out on it until today. 2015 Pioneer 222 SF. Lightly used 40 hours. Garmin 1040xs, Yamaha 250 (3.3). Picked it up in Tampa and spending the weekend at the in laws in Ormond beach. Been starring at her through the window with the thunderstorms the last two days. Finally got her out today.

Fished the Sea Hunt BX put to the Ross a lot but never farther. Been wanting something that would let us get a little farther out with the mosquito fleet on good days and something with a few more features for the family. Here’s a few photos from our first day out.

Good looking rig. Glad you were able to liberate her from FL and return her to the ancestral homeland.

Lol exactly, poor girl, feel like she was sent to live with foster parents in a bad bad place.

You’ll like it. May want to get canvas and spray curtains though. Boat acts and fishes bigger than it is.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Beautiful ride, congrats. Holler at Phin, and get you some Marsh Tacky outriggers on that thing!

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”

You will love it, I do mine. One of the best laid out fishing boats in its class. The front bench seats are well insulated and hold 110 qt. each, they drain overboard. that is where the fish go. The deck box up forward is massive and holds 320 qt. and drains through the bilge. We load up the deck box with ice, no fish, and transfer ice to bench boxes as needed. You will also really like the tackle storage, very convenient. I did add another rod holder on each side. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Very nice. Put some ice on that little girl or she’ll spoil.

Like all little girls I’m sure she is already spoiled.

That’s a nice looking rig:sunglasses: Nice looking family too!

Very nice. You will have lots of great times with friends and family on that.

Thanks guys and yeah they are pretty much spoiled. Hard not to at that age. At 3 and 5 they already know how to work me. It’s funny how fast they figure it out.

Awesome!

I saw one with a merc 300 at tractor supply and talked to the guy for ever. I went throuht it. I know my boats and its nice.the 222 was getting delivered to the merc rep. I love the hard top and the blue gell coat, etc. Thd strakes were massive, the deadrise was rounded like the pursuitdenali and the beam looks bigger. I was impressed and I live boats. heavier for sure with more entry , freeboard and thick recessed trim tabs. I bet its nice on the drift. The chines were reversed more than most other similar boats. he said it would go 56 . I don’t know about that that’s a heavy 300hp verado

I saw 62 on mine one day in perfect conditions and the 21P on it, 1/2 tank and me solo. It’ll run 52 with gear on board, 3 people and 1/2 load of fuel. Those boats are pretty square on RPM and speed.

I’m jealous
I think that’s going to be my next boat…whenever the money comes around
I’ve never actually even been in one, but people seem so high on them and the layout does seem great. I have a new son, so I’m looking for something a touch bigger than my sea hunt. Any chance one could stick a trolling motor on the bow, or is the bow too high/boat too heavy?
