New Boat

I fished out of a Native Watercraft Ultimate 12 yeaterday, and this boat is awesome!!!

Go to www.nativewatercraft.net to check more pictures.

This is sort of a canoe, sort of a kayak, and a fishing machine. I was able to stand up in the boat and throw a 6 foot castnet without any problem at all. The boat is stable as hell. The seat is also very comfortable, it reminds me of a beach lounge chair.

As far as paddling, it was quicker than I thought it would be, easy to manuever and with a drop down skeg it tracked well also.

With a few add ons like rod holders and cleats, this boat should be awesome.

If anyone is interested, we have a Demo in the Ultimate 12 and Ultimate 14.5 (Solo or Tandem) at Time Out to try. (Yes, we sell them as well for $775 on the 12)

I also think this would make a great boat for hunting out of as well.

Oh yeah, I caught one nice trout, a small one, and a small flounder all at Copahee on mullet and grubs.

Like the man said, how much does it weigh. A “sleg” is that a type of rudder, can you put a rudder on the 14’, one boat does both solo and random? Plus this is a glass boat, isn’t it? With your height how was paddling it? Looks like a short person would be banging there arms or there paddle on the side? I would really be interested in paddling one in the near future. Sorry about all the questions, so this should be my last one:slightly_smiling_face: Did Native Watercraft have this boat at the festival last spring? I kinda remember seeing something like it, but I think it was plastic.

Ok, I not finished with the Questions. The elite looks like its glass where the other is plastic…right? Do y’all have the elite? Plus how much more is it then the regular one? This should do it for now…I think.

In plastic i Believe it is about 48 lbs. In glass aKA Elite version, about 36 lbs. I would like it with a rudder instead of a skeg, but it was pretty goog as is. I am not a big guy, but paddling was not a problem at all. Ya’ll come by the store and check it out, or go fishing with me and I will bring one for you! Oh yeah, I think the Elite is somewhere around $2000.

Willy, it rides a bit higher than a kayak, although not much higher. Very comfortable seat though.

I saw this boat and I must admit I liked it a lot. I have had my heart and mind set on a Hobie mirage drive but now I think that I might get one of these first for my flats fishing and hopefully later get a 16’ for my longer trips.

Very nice boat and the seat is awesome!!
