New Bossman Boats TailSpotter - IN THE WATER

New Bossman TailSpotter in the mold today. It will have a flag blue hull with the Matterhorn white top deck. Bossman Boats is located down in New Smyrna, Florida. They have been making these skiffs for about 2 years now and have an excellent reputation. Richard at Bossman has been great to work with and very helpful with my many changes.

The TailSpotter drafts an honest 6" with the 60 Suzuki on back. I’m looking forward to getting this boat on the Stono River.

That’s going to be a sweet ride. Looking forward to seeing the final product.

Thanks YnR. I’m going down Sunday evening to take them a hummingbird fish finder/navigation unit and go over placement of some of the options. They said it will be ready to head to rigging Monday or Tuesday. I will take some photos when I get there.

Here are some more photos. The photo’s above are of the skin coat that goes next to the gelcoat. The photo’s below are of them hand laying the fiberglass layers. They put carbon fiber in some of the critical spots like the bow and where the engine mounts. Also, they use Nida-core in the bottom of the hull and under the deck.

Looking good!

Longest 13 weeks of my life… This process seems longer than waiting for my first child to be born. They have been busy with a lot of orders and had to make some upgrade / expansions. I definitely understand their situation… Have been there myself. I am told they are fitting my skiff now and will have it in rigging next week. I should have some more pictures tomorrow.

Here are some more photos. Those gunnels are 18" wide… I think even Stonoman could walk around up top!

Here’s some more pictures. It should be in rigging by the middle of the week. Heading down there in the next few days.

Here’s a picture of the console. It will have a tackle box and draw built into the side.

Nice work. And, I hate to gripe, but, could you please rotate your photos before posting them. Wigs my eyes out. 'Get to where I don’t even look. And, that’s a shame since the boat looks like a nice design and build.

Hey Palmer,

Thanks for the advise. I see what you mean. They are much easier to look at right side up. Sorry about that, it never crossed my mind to rotate them!

What a beast and a beauty! Lucky you!

“you win some, you lose some…but nothing beats getting some!”

Thanks Stump. It is starting to look pretty good. It will be nice to put the Power Poles down and not have the current swing the boat around.
