New Chartplotter

Looking to replace my old Garmin 798 chartplotter (think that is the model) with either a Simrad 907 or 909 or a Garmin GPSmap 722 ro Echomar Plus 94SV. Wanting to stay under $1000. The 800 range would be better.

The boat (SeaPro 206) used to be offshore a couple times a month and now if it see greenwater once a year it would be a lot. I do take it up and down the IC from south of Charleston to north of St. Marys/.

I have a Lowrence on my 17’ Mako and not interested in another one.

I do have a Garmin 498 on the boat too just for an extra GPS. I would keep either the 498 or 798 as a back up.

Any suggestion?

I can only chime in on what I use. I would recommend the Simrad GO9 and the Simrad NSS7 Evo3 for your price range. The GO9 being the cheaper of the 2. Great package deals available with Total Scan transducer and bundled with great aftermarket chart cards can be found as well. Also, I know there is a $50 rebate on getting a nav+ regions card with the purchase of a new chart plotter. These simrad units offer great screen quality, fast processors, the sounder, down and side scan is great. Easy to use settings with mostly auto settings being used. Can’t go wrong. Hope this helps. Tight lines.
