New Fish finder/ GPS discussion

Looking to get a new fish finder/ gps combo for my kayak. I used to have a Lowrance HDS gen3 on my boat but i sold that. It was a good unit but required you to upload your sonar in order to learn the contours of the water bottom. I believe the humminbird Helix series does that automatically.
What has been your experience with some newer units and why do you like them? Easy to use, features, etc.

They make so many good apps for navigation you can download on your phone, not sure you would need a real GPS. Some of the nicer ones have a bottom contour image for reference

I took lowrance elite 7 chirp off my boat which you can have for the postage or ya can pick it up.

I agree with early. MX Mariner is a great app for charts/navigation. I have a Lowrance Hook 7, love it. But I fish shallow. Fish finders are pretty worthless when targeting reds in shallow water.
