Just got an E-mail from DNR saying that now if you are recreational fishing off land (docks, piers, inlets, ETC) or crabbing or shrimping that you must have a saltwater fishing license.

While law enforcement has become a complete disappoint, I had hoped that DNR would keep some decency about themselves.
Why are people biatching about having to pay to fish from land? Its $10.00 big deal and it goes to further your enjoyment of the state’s natural resources. I’ve paid for a license with all the trimmings since I was in HS 20 years ago whether I used it or not and never complained one time.
It galls me to see someone complain about an $10.00 license for the DNR then turn around and buy 3 packs of cigarettes or $20.00 worth of lottery tickets. Maybe this new license with get Pedro and his buddies to quit taking advantage of the system and pay for their share of what they take or those other people that keep every short flounder, trout, shark, redfish etc. they catch.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I don’t like giving the govt. anymore $ than I have to but, I can’t believe that this new law effects too many folks on this site. If anything, it makes it more fair as even the bridge and bank fishermen will have to contribute. Seems fair to me and it is just $10.00.

RB, that was not directed at you but I have heard numerous people complaining about it. My example was true, a day or two ago this person in front of me inline at a convenience store was complaining about it. When I told him the same thing his response was he needed his smokes and the lottery would make him rich. I told him he’s paying more taxes playing the lottery than a $10.00 license would cost.
