New fishing noob here

Hey I am new to having a boat and fishing out of boat. I can slay the fish on folly beach, with a tri liter and pyramid but I know that sucks in boat. I have heard the Carolina rig is the way to go. Can anyone tell me what kind of rig and what bait … will it work this time of year etc. Anyone that can help thx in advance.
Using 2007 sea hunt 20 foot triton 202 cc with ttops and 140 Johnson 4 stroke I need pointers

I use double drops with pyramids all the tme from the boat. Never had any issues? In fact the only change I make from my surf setup is a shorter rod, SOMETIMES lighter weights.

Thx

When I get to fish, I am partial to a mud minnow on a jighead, cast out and bounce it across the bottom with a slow retrieve. You might also try shrimp/mud minnow on a popping cork as well as artificials like a trout trick on a jighead.

I’m with you D…I even like a shrimp, tail hooked on a good jighead…bounce, bounce, bounce…

Yeah, for me its pretty much idiot proof…almost. The hard part is actually finding the fish.

Agreed with all above, Mud minnow/cut mullet/shrimp on a jig head bouncing around any sort of structure will keep you plenty busy

Look at where Jesus went to pick people. He didn’t go to the colleges; he got guys off the fishing docks.
