New flounder regs

So…is this official?

No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.

Looks like it…

I thought the same thing. Just wanted to make sure I was reading it correctly.

No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.

They’ll probably put it on the next sticker ruler. Probably can’t fully enforce it until then since it is so recent.

Don’t use your sticker rule for measuring fish… It is only an approximation. (according to DNR) My son got a ticket for over slot spot tail. 1/4" inch DNR agent used his tape measure and instead of arguing that a tape measure from lips to tail over a fat belly equals more than laying the fish on the DNR supplied ruler, he took the ticket. $120.

Shame he could not take time off work to contest it.

“Why Bruce?”

i’ve got to admit I believe the creel limit is ok, but 15"? Good lord! Two nice 12" flounder pan fried is all the wife and I need. So I guess I’ll just have to hope I can release quite a few small ones and they will all live to keep a couple of “keepers”.

Why not just limit gigging to 10 fish with a limit of 12"---- to whatever. Can you imagine how many “stuck” fish will be thrown back?

“Why Bruce?”

Old regs are still posted on DNR website.

Pioneer 222 Sportfish
Yamaha 250

The website your gave put the wrong bill number in the article it is really # 3665 . Effective date is 7/1/17

http://www.scstatehouse.gov/query.php?search=DOC&searchtext=3665&category=LEGISLATION&session=122&conid=8559534&result_pos=0&keyval=1223665&numrows=10

Upon further review, the CCA sited the wrong bill. I went to the state house’s website to search the bill and h. 3664 is about a cigarette surtax. Bill h. 3665 is the one pertaining to the new flounder regs. It states the effective date is 7/1/17.

Sorry FP. I just saw where you posted the same thing before me.

No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.

Yep, that sounds right. On the sticker, the effective date is always July 1.
