It’s been quite awhile since I’ve done any tying. Started a new job this year, driving a tractor trailer & it’s taken up a lot of my time. So, now have some time off, and it rained all day yesterday.
I had bought some Tibetan lamb last year & decided to give it a go. I’ve tied with it before, just not a lot. Tied on a Mustad 9174NP-BLN Ultra Point O’Shaughnessy hook. Gray over light blue, over pink over white with Mallard flank cheeks. All topped with peacock herl fibers. The pink hair is not showing very well at all. The head is coated with a clear fabric paint, but didn’t turn out as nice as I would have liked. I had the paint, and it didn’t flow as well as I thought it should. Probably getting old, & I might have to get some new stuff for the next flies I try. Oh, there’s some pearl blue Polar Flash in there too!
I’m intending to use it in the lake (Marion) for bass or Stripers, and may also tie a few on saltwater hooks for the coast.
