New Gheenoe in Summerville

Launched a month ago. Seems will be years just to learn the landings for the Edisto, Wando, Ashley and Cooper let alone the where, when and how to navigate and fish…

This forum has been so much a help

Great rig

Thats sweet. You will love that this winter for skinny water reds. Hell, year round!
I agree with ya by the way. It would take a lifetime to learn all the creeks, landings, etc in this area. Ain’t it great?

BTW, consider signing up on the waiting list for the summervillesaltwateranglers fishing club. In January there should be some turnover and we will be accepting new members.

I will shoot you a PM…

Nice boat, just choose wisely the days you venture out into the harbor. For the back creeks, that thing will be unstoppable.

Kevin,

True that. Over 2’ swells and I am on my way home. But creeping up the small inlets is a blast.

Agreed, windy days you better be in a creek!

Nice Bote, I bought a 15’ NMZ last year 15 Yammy you are going to love it, good luck/

That is a super nice rig man!

What kind of adjustable mount is that on the bow spotlight?

That is a nice rig. I have been thinking on getting new one with a motor.

1986 Gheenoe 15’9" bought new and never put a gas motor on her.

I have been looking at these, it would be great for the creeks and shallow water. I would also like to fish in the Broad River , especially during Cobia season. I know that I would have to choose my days. Would also love to bait shrimp and deep hole out of it if possible.

bmacneil 2008 , can you give me a rough estimate on what a rig like yours would cost , also where you bought it from ?

Anyone who has owned one prefer a jon boat?

The reason I ask is that I’ve seen some for sale by folks who have owned them for only a short time.

They look awesome, BTW. Congrats.

the thing about a jon boat… for me is… it’s harder to paddle (If that’s your thing <like me> ). Many don’t like the width and feel of being so close to the water, unlike bass boats and V-hulls. Just saying.

I have a 15’6 classic now and in the past I had a 15’ duracraft John boat. The gheenoe is a lot faster and more fun to operate, it floats shallower and is much quieter than the John boat. The John boat was more stable and had a lot more storage. I have had my Gheenoe for about 4 years and am selling it now because I need something a little bigger I had been just taking my son with me for the last few years(he’s 5) and it is perfect for my wife my son and I but now my daughter is 3 and she wants to come with us too.

Here's a completely tricked out one with a center console and all sorts of goodies, and a relatively simple one, to give you an estimate.

Knotsober, Ive seen those two. I would have to get a high back chair because of my back also one for the front. Would like one with the steering in the center console also.
