New golden retriever, advice on making a boat dog

Got me a new golden retriever after having to put my golden down after 13 years and 8 months , it ripped my heart out , I’m moving on and looking for advice on boat training for my new golden puppy. I’ve been putting her in boat and doing lots of walking around etc without motors running, she’s 13 weeks old so going slow, any advice, ?

Also my old golden I didn’t do really anything and she just picked up right on it and never really trained her on boat but she was so attached to being near me but was always a little nervous with motors running, so I wanted to teach new pup not to be nervous and needing suggestions is what I’m trying to ask of everyone

A buddy of mine gave me a half golden, half lab one time.
She immediately jumped out the boat the first time we took her out.Lol
Never jumped out again!
My boys spent a lot of time with her
Shooting around her and lighting fireworks
She wasn’t scared of anything and very protective of them.
Best dog we ever had that would not hunt or retrieve anything.Haha
Wish I had a picture to post
My advice is to spend plenty of time with your new puppy.

Small steps. Short rides at first, slower speeds. A stop for play time on an island or bank for swimming and running to wear them out helps a lot. Our dog (lab) absolutely loves the boat as he knows it leads to his greatest love, getting to swim. He loves it but still not crazy about WOT or a lot of heavy wake bounce. He doesn’t freak out or anything, just obviously not as comfortable with it (smart dog), usually moves off the bow to back of boat or at my feet at helm. He’d prefer to be sitting on the bow face in the wind at a moderate cruising speed!
