Hey guys. New guy here. I’m in the Coast Guard and have lived in the area for the past 2 years. I have a Hobie Outback and have taken it out a few times but I don’t know the waters really well and I’m just guessing out there. I would really like to link up with someone to show me the ropes for the area, what the fish like, and what areas to stay away from. I went yesterday to copahee and fished high tide. It was my first time out there and it was not fun not knowing the area. Tore up the kayak pretty good and almost destroyed my pedals. Mind you it was high tide. I caught a bunch of junk and 2 reds under slot. I tried everything. Top water jig, swim bait, shrimp, mullet, squid, bobbers, and a few more. The only luck I had was with shrimp on a popping cork. Please let me know if you guys ever get a chance to show a newbie the area. I only have gear for salt water and I usually stay out all day. Thank you guys in advance for and help or information.
Welcome! Our kayak fishing club does Meet & Greets where we go around the area fishing different landings…you are more than welcome to fish with us.
