I just started a new hobby, bought a couple of tools and some supplies and quickly ran out of rods that need to be repaired. So here the deal, I’m looking for 2 things…
If you have a rod that needs a tip or guide replaced, I’ll do it at no cost. I can promise I’ll make it functional, it will look good, it might not match all the other guides perfectly. Chances are the replacement guide will be one that been previously used. Again I’ll make it functional…So if you have a high-end rod this is not for you.
If you have a rod that is broken, absolutely not repairable, and it had good guides on it, I would like to salvage the guides. I’m on James Island, I would be happy to work on arranging a convenient time/place.
Again this is just a hobby. If I can help you or you can help me just PM me
Sorry I didn’t read this earlier, I just too a bundle of broken rod to the dump. Have been keeping them for years to salvage the parts but my eye and fingers don’t work well any more!
I have a few rods that need eyes and a pile of older rods that will never get used. I am sure some would have eyes you could use. Maybe we can work something out. You ever in the Goose Creek or North Charleston area?
I’ve got a few old broken ones that the eyes and maybe reel seats or grips may be reusable. I can saw them up into pieces and mail them. PM me your address if you want them.
I been working on some rods and I’ve been increasing my inventory of supplies and both new and used guides, but I’m still pretty limited considering the number of different styles and sizes of guides used by rod mfgrs. Again, this is just a hobby not a business (obviously). My offer still stands, I can replace guides and tips, but that’s about all I can do. And I can use previously used guides that are in good condition or if I don’t have the right used component or if you want new replacement components, I can use brand new guides, but I might have to order the new components and I would have to ask that you cover the cost of new components and the problem with ordering just a couple of components is often the shipping is more than the cost of the parts:frowning_face:
And this is a “spare time” kind of thing…but I can give you a rough time frame…
