New in Charleston

Hi:

I’m new here, and looking to fish in my hobie adventurer. Anyone who can point me into where I can fish, put it (yak) in the water or how to fish is welcome and encouraged to make any useful comments. Thanks.

Henry

I’m from Florida, I’m thinking it’s cold in the water, LOL No really, staying at an extended stay hotel, not sure where I’d put the yak until I get something more stable and secure to stay at with more room, looking now for an apartment if anyone has any ideas, love to hear them. I work in North Charleston.

I’m still here!! Going through withdrawals for my family and yak. LOL Anyone fish of the land? Or know of a good place to rent a yak for a day?

Time-Out Sports in Mt. Pleasant has kayak rentals…

Dolphin D at Time Out and Tommy Samuels( Too Busy) at www.kayakfishSC.com can take care of you.
Why not get a first floor room and keep the yak there for free?

Hey Saltyyaker…A few of us have share yaks…If you have the fishing gear; I’m sure someone could bring an extra along.
I have two extra and would be glad to help but my wife like to yak as well and I have a buddy borrowing my other while his yaks come out from Washington. Welcome.

DDolson:

If you or anyone would lend me a yak to fish, I’m golden. I certainly would appreciate it. I am moving to charleston, I work for SRC in north charleston. I left my yak in orlando, fl because theres no room for it in my hotel.

Anyone fishing this weekend?

Well, I didn’t hear anything, so I rented a yak from someone on shem creek located at w. coleman blvd. I was thinking of fishing in Charleston harbor but the lady is recommending I fish in the ICW - any suggestions where to fish? I normally fish with a live shrimp on a popper for seatrout.

ICW can get sketchy at times, but you’ve got a lot of seat time, so it’s up to you. Pay attention to big boat wakes if you’re fishing the mud flats.
You can launch on the back of Sullivan’s Island at Station 26. It’s a short paddle from there to the ICW.

You can also launch in the creek at the Pisst St Bridge in Mt P. Also a short paddle to the harbor or ICW.

Remley’s boat landing in Mt P. Work the grass. It’s good paddling from landing all the way down to The Cove at Sullivan’s Island.

Daniel Island Pier. launch beside the pier and head left or right. fishy in both directions.

tons of spots to fish down here. At least a dozen more easy access points I can think of.

I am a orlando native, don’t know anything here yet.

I see Pitt St. Bridge in Sullivan Isl.? Is that what you meant?

The Pitt St Bridge in Mt P: Ben Sawyer Blvd toward Sullivans Isl, right on Center St, Left on Pitt St to the end
Sta 26: Ben Sawyer Blvd onto Sullivans Isl, left on Jasper Blvd, Left on Sta 26 to the end
