Picking up a malibu stealth 12 anyone here know anything about them. saw an old blog talking about them leaking through a hatch? don’t think I’ll be going in the ocean with it? just looking for imput good or bad. thanks see you on the water.
I don’t have first hand knowledge but spoke with Dave the local dealer about these. He said the older ones did not have bottoms in the rod holders and had a tendency to take on water. They corrected that design flaw. But I don’t know if there were any other issues.
Many go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.
Yes there was one item on the net about Malibu Stealth leaking
Any kayak will take a little water, but when you put a hose with full pressure up against a seal it will leak ask any boater
I have tested my 14ft stealth with waves coming over the bow into 15 to 20MPH gusts white caps going into the incoming tide and had very little water come in
And yes some 2011 models had rod holders open at the bottom which water got in Rod holders are easy to replace
