New kayak, now need some fish!

Hi Folks,

I remember last year looking at all the kayak photos and wondering why all the interest. My lovely bride bought me a Pungo 120 for our anniversary, and now I know.

Been having lots of fun paddling around, but so far have not caught any fish. Would appreciate any advice.

SO FAR I HAVE:
Put in on Elliott Cut and paddled slowly down to Wappoo Creek while trolling a #5 DOA (green with speckles). Also tried a silver speckled twist tail Gulp! on a red jig head. I trolled along the grass and around the docs with no luck. HOWEVER, on both trips I was out at almost a slack high tide.

Any tips or tricks for my area? I live by the cut, so it’s likely where I will fish most of the time.

Any help? I’m not asking for secret spots, just a tip or two.

Many thanks,
Mike

I shared the good spots with you through PM. Get in touch with Jordanonayak. He lives 5 minutes from the Stono off Wappoo Rd. Great guy to paddle and fish with.

So much water, So little time

Yep! Thanks. Now I just need to improve my timing. I’ve never had good luck on a slack tide, but it sure makes for easy paddling.
