Bought my new 2013 Malibu Stealth 12 a little over a month ago from Capt Dave on Daniel Island. Got a good deal and I love the kayak!
I test paddled a number of kayaks such as natives and the famous ws135 and they just didnt do it for me. I love being able to stand and throw my cast net and drop my bait in my live well. The storage and stability was what convinced me to buy this over others. I installed a scotty rod mount holder in the center console behind my fishfinder and the seat is a spider angler, which is very comfortable and has rod holders and a zipper compartment.
I originally started using my hummingbird fishing buddy 120 dual beam with a modified scotty mount that I rigged up, but it was affecting my paddling due to the drag it created in the water. I Just installed a new Lowrance Mark 4 fishfinder/chartplotter and I highly recommend it.

In my opinion one of the best features of the malibu is the recessed transducer mount. Any lowrance product works with this.
Ran the cable from the transducer into the scupper hole and drilled a hole to run the cable into the hull.
Put a plastic bin up front under the gator hatch with a sealed 12 volt battery. Works great! You can even see schools of baitfish with this fishfinder!
Doesn’t look pretty but it will do the job until I get a truck.
