Passed the SC House 92-10, although I dont know anyone who keeps more than 50 of a combination of Whiting, Spot, and Croaker.

The cormorants are not going to be happy. Came around a corner this morning and no less then 300 of them took off, next thing we saw a half dozen spots come floating to the surface. One of the coolest things I have ever seen on the water

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>This will be renamed the “Yeti Bill”. Noone needs to keep ice for over 5 days BUT…If you catch 50 Whiting, Spot, and Croakers, you typically need to keep them cool for over 5 days on one bag of ice.
Is this really necessary?? sounds like a waste of time to me. Yes, some people do keep more than that, they like fish in the freezer for winter, and these are hardly endangered by the rec. catch.
Just seems like a waste of time to me.

Possible new Yeti slogan, Feeding fresh croakers to ‘poor people’ for 8 years.

croakers whiting and spot are hardly trash fish. They are plentiful and tasty. I just don’t see why our legislature needs to waste their time on this.
are they going to fine shrimp boats for killing thousands of pounds of them? Stupid law! the people fishing for these fish keep them for FOOD! We get all our commercially caught spots, whiting, and croakers from net boats in NC, and Va.

“Back home we got a taxidermy man. He gonna have a heart attack when he see what I brung him”
Is this a done deal, or is there something we can do to stop this foolishness?
Looks like it passed the House and was sent to the Senate. It can be stopped there, but with that vote margin looks likely to pass.
What is the problem here? If you have 3 people on the boat that’s 150 fish. That’s plenty.
that’s your opinion. I’ve kept that many myself to stock up the freezer for winter. They never get wasted. There is just no reason for this stupid law.
Just another example of a small group of people who waste government money and dictating what other people do. In their minds, the general public is too stupid to take of the resource themselves.
I am still waiting for one of these out of work lawyers to figure out that charging a fee for a fishing license is a violation of 9th Amendment.
Monetarist economic theory at it’s finest, you can’t afford air, oh well you need to quit breathing then.
The problem is the government, not the fish. I want to see a game warden count 150 fish; it will never happen.
