Just got an email from Lowrance saying there is a new 2.0 update for the HDS GEN 2 and Gen 2 Touch. How do you input the update to the unit?

New 2.0 software update adds capability to all HDS Gen2 and HDS Gen2 Touch displays.

Lowrance has announced innovative new software enhancements for its powerful HDS Gen2 Touch touchscreen and HDS Gen2 multifunction displays. Available as a free online download, enhancements with the new 2.0 software for the Gen2 Touch and Gen2 series include GoFree? Wireless compatibility, Chart Sharing, Depth Contour Shading, StructureMap? HD, extensive mapping options and a host of performance improvements. In addition, the Gen2 Version 2.0 update brings existing advanced features of the newer Touch series to HDS Gen2 users.

Cool, just installed my new HDS7 gen2 touch and get the update too. I cant wait to get out and test it.

OK; Now that we know there is an Updated that we can download how do you download and upload it to the HDS? I would think you use the little SD microchip disk thing, but will it upload automatically or do you have to start the upload manually? I’ve never done an upload and can’t find anything in the Lowrance Operation Manual that says Update Software instructions? HELP

I updated my lms337c twice while I had it. I just put the update on a SD card and put it in and it did it on power up. I’m gonna have to research it a little on my new one though.

Go to settings, File and select the update file to import.

Yeah guys thats what I needed! Had a guy on another site tell me that he just downloaded to an SD chip and put it in the unit and it started uploading automatically. I don’t know why the manual doesn’t tell you how to do it:question: (**()ed, Chineese Chit!
