Looking at the Fusion RA 205.Looks like a good unit with two speakers.Anyone have any info?
I am looking at the same. From what I have read, if you want to run 4 speakers, donāt own an iphone, and/or want to run VHF through the radio you need the RA 205 kit.
If you only want to run 2 speakers, only plan on hooking up Apple products for music, and donāt need the VHF connected, you can save some money on the RA 50 unit.

Mr. Stono, the biggest investment in a boat stereo system (imo) should be good marine grade speakers. For the head unit Iāve had the best of the marine ones only to fail in a couple of years. Iāve got about four left that I got out of a local you- pull salvage yard. I get the same life out of them as the expensive marine units. Most Iāve paid for one is $15.00. Iām talking finding a couple of Alpines, and even a MMats Professional Audio system. Just make sure you cut enough to the harness to wire in. Most of the radios have a label on them telling what wire is what. If not most can easily be found on the internet.
Get a chartplotter that had a Sonic Hub or similar capability. AM/FM/Ipod/MP3/Sirius all in one unit with your Chart/Fish/Steer.

I ordered my Fusion off of Amazon last year. I also ordered the gimble style mount because I didnt have a place to mount in my consoleā¦ It works great and sounds greatā¦ Make sure you buy good speakersā¦ Cheap speakers produce cheap soundā¦ I bought the JL Audio 6-1/2 speakers from Best Buy on clearance. All JL Audio speakers are marine rated, awesome soundā¦

I have the ra-200. I added an aux jack the the rca cables for like $9 and plug in my iphone. Runs 4 speakers just fine, just dont buy the kit with the speakers in it. I have no need for an iphone dock since they donāt allow the phone to fit with an otterbox.
Bought the head unit at West Marine so when/if it dies and can get it replaced quickly. Ordered the speakers from rock the boat for a lot nicer price than I see locally.
I like how with the battery switch off it still keeps my settings with no power to it. Also it is smaller than many and takes up less room.
I just went with the West Marine brand kit with 2 speakers. I liked the speakers a lot better than the other kits, and the radio frequency remote was nice. It was on sale for $200 and works great. Actually has bass, and you can turn it way up without distortion. The remote floats and can be used within 30ā without having to have line of sight.
