Hi everyone,

I’m new to the board and have a second home on Kiawah. I bought a used 19’ Tidewater last summer here and am learning the rivers. We plan to return next month for the summer and I’m interested in fishing buddies who know the area. If you are interested let me know. My email is amarkow225@aol.com.

Most of my fishing experience was striper fishing on the Chesapeake Bay off Annapolis, MD and years ago on the Del. Bay. This past winter I caught a couple of oversize Reds at the Cinder Creek docks on frozen shrimp. First time catching large Reds. What a rush!

Our house is 2 minutes from the Rhett’s Bluff ramp.

Welcome aboard cappy.

Nice fishing your way. Noticed the beekeeper handle. I keep a few as well. I fish the Wando and north of mt. Pleasant but use to work at KI and enjoyed some good fishing there.

Thanks Wando. The fellow I bought the boat from lives in your area and fished the Wando. Pretty stretch of water up there.

beekeeper, I fished up and down the Chesapeake as well and on north to Jersey. I’m usually around your waters (Kiawah area). If you see a 17ft scout with a 100 hp Yamaha (and windshield missing yet frame remaining) then that’s me. Pull on up if you’d like (slowly though!). Just keep fishing Cinder and Bass creek. Great places to learn (you’ll pick up on their movements at different tides at different times of the year etc). I love the whole Stono Inlet area (Folly river, Kiawah river, Stono all the way to Limehouse and beyond plus some great creeks). Have a busy schedule so I average about 2 Saturday mornings a month lately but PM me ahead of time if you plan on being out some Saturday morning and if so then I wouldn’t have any heartburn at all linking up with you while on the water and you can follow me a few places until I disappear back to changing diapers and chasing a terrible two year old.

Shamrock,

Will do. I remember little ones that age. Mine are in their 20’s now. One getting married this fall.

Hope it’s a son because if it’s a daughter then I’m sure your wallets hurting! Well we’re getting into my favorite part of the year soon. I love it when it gets hot. Then I get out super early (5:30’ish as sun rises earlier and earlier) and enjoy seeing the ocean life in a frenzy, the sun begin to peak up little by little, a moment of tranquility, and then absolute chaos when a red lights a rod up unexpectedly! Keep me posted, Al.
