I noticed DNR No Wake signs on the pilings of the JI connector at Wapoo cut last weekend. Looks like there is a construction barge tied up there also. Have I been missing this sign for years or is it brand new? How far does it extend? Does the NWZ now go from the entrance to Wapoo off the Ashley all the way to the Stono? Used to be able to motor once you got out of the markers at the landing when going to the harbor…

i think that is new. i thought you could run fast from the ashley to right before the wappoo ramp. however, i could be wrong.

Probably only there for the workers’ safety while work is being done…we’ll see.
It is just a temp zone and I have seen it enforced there. As soon as SCDOT finishes the dolphin project the no wake zone will be disbanded. Hope this answers your question.
