New Old Truck Project

Another thing you might consider putting in your stock pond is some corn.

You never know who’s gonna show up for dinner

Looking for opinions on the frame.

POR 15 or Eastwood products. What do the fine CF people prefer?

No, I’m not powder coating it.

What’s this all about…

You thinks he’s going to use Patagonya…on the seats???

Don’t get you’re hopes up…What about the peeps in “train town” aka Rickyville…they waiting on garbage pickup.

Little by little…

Finally pulled the six out. Maybe this year I’ll get her repowered. I’ve got all my parts together and the lower end built using a Scat rotating assembly with flat tops. Lucked up on a set of Track #1 Brodix heads and matched air gap intake+ a bunch of other sbc goodies from a friend that went to all big block. Respringing them and that should be the last part I need for engine. It took an 8 month wait for a custom ground cam to arrive. Looking for a rough idle so got a lot of duration and a high lift. I’m looking to run on pump gas so I kept compression down to 10.8 : 1 I’d love to see about 500hp, should realistically see 450… ? We’ll see. Still going with the “patina” look. I suck at body work and painting, but I can clear over rust.

Maybe this sight will still be rolling if I ever finish this silly project. Should be working on a couple of tractors that have been sitting for ages.

You got momentum don’t stop…
Carbureted??

I’m getting ready to put a cam in my Street glide. So many options. And we won’t even get into tuning / tuners / Dino. (Big learning curve for me) Really trying to do my homework the last couple weeks reading and watching videos. Looking for low end and mid-range torque. Could care less about the Max horsepower at 6,000 RPMs. I’m not wanting to do any head work.
I think I pretty much made up my mind maybe I think.
Red shift 468 claims to have over 20 ft pounds of torque and 25 horsepower across the board.
But the important thing I get from watching some of the videos sounds so good one heck of a chop.

You find things offensive. I find things funny. That's why I'm happier than you.

Yes sir, gonna be carburated. Almost went alchol, but that stuff is not street friendly. Looked into a few fuel injection systems, but I’m sticking old school. Besides I have a couple 650’s and 750’s lying around and many other in various brands and sizes i can “borrow” from my brother-in-law to see what I like.

On you choosing the cam… Just when you think you are ready to pull the plug, give it another week of research. Call Howard / bullet/ comp / or some other major manufactor and see if they can suggest a custom grind. ?

Very cool restorations. I’d love to restore an old Beetle. Dirt simple if you can find a good pan and, you can build a kick azz 2180 cc motor with dual carbs that will scoot.

"Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It's Hand", but really, who cares?

Them old Volkswagen beetles are getting crazy money right now. Especially the convertibles.

I might have to hit you up on some info on them. My father-in-law gave me a dun buggy several years ago… still under his shed. Engine was built by shop here that is now closed that specialized in VWs. Never been cranked.

I was at Cooper River Drag strip and there were two bugs cutting tail on the track. I was shocked at how much power you can get out of that air cooled 4cly. Also both guys were crazy good at shifting gears. they were running low 7’s @ 98mph Not many v8 doing that.

Damnnn newer trucks ain’t worth a crap. He used to be able to just take your beer and pop it like a bottle opener. No you got to hook it and smack it with your hand.
Whoever’s engineering these newer trucks needs their tail whipped.

You’ll need to get motivated on your projects

I didn’t take you for a Corona Man. I figured you’d be a Bush light or Bud type. I like Corona or a Guinness (not the one with Nitrogen in it) when I do drink beer, the wife likes her Bush light.

Any update on the tiny train village? TIA, xoxo peapod

Its not that tiny, just wet and cold thats all

Oil change in my truck this morning $139 and then filled up the gas tank another $104.
Fred.
Corona and mardelo’s are my primary beers. Budweiser is my backup.
Not much of a liquor drinker. I’ll do a shot every now and again… 3or4 shots and I’m ready to curl up and take a nap.

this may be appropriate for you. Not sure if you’ve watched Seinfeld, but his was one cracked me up. Watch till the end.

So the foundation guys came last week and took care of business! (Pretty much the only work I havent done myself) Added 3 piers and a 4x6 beam for support.

Reframed the closet wall to move the door away from the window and be able to do matching barn doors for the bath and closet in the future. You can see old wall outline in first pic

Old floor removed and time to scrape popcorn earlier this week.

Picked up tile yesterday

Thinking something like this…

Anyone have a tile guy I could get a quote from?

Oops, just realized I put this in the wrong projects thread…

Now that we have some actual admin, if you can, please move my post to the “Projects” thread. Thanks!

An update on the truck would be cool sometime soon too, I’d hat for PeePad to have to start with his text messages :+1:

Man your crawl space is impressive.

I was thinking that same thing OTC! I just ran some wiring for security cameras under my house and I came out a sand/dirt covered mess, not to mention the cob webs.
