New personal best

Set the new Fortunate Son record with three people throwing up in one trip, with an assist from the weatherman who has a very strange idea how big two feet is. On the fishing side, after three big trips the honey hole finally dried up. Worked scattered weeds in 200 ft, with one slinger. Trolled out to a nice looking rip with a few weeds in 1000ft and picked up 4 slingers. Ran back to 200 hoping the weds had formed up. They had but no fish. Since we had two first timers and two others who had only been a couple of times decided to go into 100 ft and bottom fish. After a bunch of spots with tiny fish, finally got on some decent fish. Turned into the wind, pushed the skyhook button and let those four catch bottom dwellers until we ran out of bait, including the thawed ballyhoo the dolphin wouldn’t eat. Everyone happy. Nice to have that option on a slow day. No pictures taken. I think we all know what small dolphin and BSB look like. Big fish fry that night with the families. Life is good on Edisto.

Thats Fishing. Working whats giving to you. Good job.

Good job (SAFELY) playing the hand you were dealt.

Skinnee called-off our Saturday trip as I was headed to the marina. Although disappointing, seeing these reports gives me even more confidence in him. Even if he does like to yell at his crew…

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”

Just remember… When I yell at you… deep down… it hurts me more than it hurts you…

We rolled out the harbor at 3:30 am Saturday and it was a nice day to fish. Rolling back in the last 4 miles it sucked. 4 ft and very short interval.
