My thoughts, which are based on very limited experience!
the space from the seat to the console or where you would mount rod holder is pretty far even with the seat all the way forward. But there is a Ton of floor space to stand on! The rear well has a much improved water drainage channel also.
That looks like a long ways to have to reach for a rod or a drink in the holder.
I found it pretty comfortable during the testing phase this past winter with the seat all the way forward. The flat plate on the console was a little above my ankles. I asked for a longer console and eliminating the little tray at the base… I lost that argument.
What I’m seeing is more and more rod holders mounted on extenstions; either Ram or Scotty. I have a couple of them and they do help with people that aren’t as flexible.
