New to Charleston!

What’s up everyone! I’m new to the Charleston area by a few months and I’m getting back into fishing after about a five year hiatus! I was wondering if any body could give me a few good spots to go to and have a little fun! I don’t have a boat just yet so I’m limited to inshore fishing right now. Thanks in advance for the tips and help!

Your best bets at the moment will be in the surf, try Sullivan’s, using cut mullet and cut shrimp.

You might have some general fun at Folly Pier as well.

What part of town you in?

Thanks Redfish Matt. Im in North Charleston OVwhaler. Ive fished the county park at Folly, caught a couple keeper reds and the Cosrove bridge but no bites there about a week ago. I normally use cut shrimp at Folly.

Try the new fishing pier in Mt. Pleasant at the base of the Ravenel bridge. Also the old bridge fishing pier at the end of Pitt St. in Mt. Pleasant. Try the surf at Ft. Moultrie on Sullivans Is., and the rocks at Breech Inlet on Sullivans Is. That’s a start for now, but if you really want to get into fishing around here join a fishing club. Make sure you join with the heart of a volunteer, and work hard to gain the respect and frienship of the existing members. Many of them are happy to introduce a newbie to the area on their boat or dock. Especially the ones that stick around to clean up after the party.

Noisette Creek in North Charleston has some pretty good fishing. There are a few bridges that you can fish off of on the old Navy Base.

Noisette bridge is posted now. No fishing.
Along with the train trestle next to it.
They also blocked the parking lot. etc…

Train company purchased all that land for the new junction station. From the pictures, it looks like it will occupy almost all of the old shipyard.

Yea I checked out Noisette as well, mo fishing. Going to try the Cosgrove for some trout early tomorrow morning and then head to Folly state park after that. Hopefully itll be a good day. Its gonna be rainy, but who cares.
