New to Kayak Fishing

Looking into getting a kayak to fish from. Tired of being stuck on land. Don’t know a thing about kayak fishing. Never even been on a kayak. Was wondering what would be a good one to start with?

Go talk to Dolphin Dave over at Time Out Sports in Mount Pleasant…he has rentals fishing kayaks. My first kayak was a Ride 135 and it is a great stable boat. Many other brands out there too - I would demo all the ones that interest you before you pull the trigger!

Also something to consider - what kind of fishing do you like to do, and where? That could steer your decision too…I’m sure others will chime in as well! Lots of good folks around here

I mainly surf fish now, due to not having a way to get on water, but i would like to use the kayak to get into the creeks for reds, trout, and flounder.

Cant go wrong with the Wilderness Systems Ride 135 or 115

My back has been bothering me for some time. I will probably sell my Commander 120 and get a Coosa for scuppers and the great seat for support.
Hope to get over there by this fall. Maybe meet @ Bessinger’s on a Wednesday and meet the weekly lunch group!
Take care.
