Hey ya’ll. I’m no stranger to kayaking or fishing. I’m quite good at both and experienced but I’ve never done both together and now that I live in Old Village I feel like I’m in a good spot for kayak fishing and I was wondering what kind of 'yak and rig and stuff I need to get me started. I’m trying to spend under 500 dollars on the kayak.
Any ideas? Thanks.

If $500 is your limit, you may look at a good used rig. Otherwise, Dick’s has a Perception Caster 12.5 and Sports Authority has a 12 Pescador that are not bad kayaks for the money. I’m sure some other will come along with some more input.
I got the cheapest one I could find and its a solid kayak I have the Future Beach Angler 144, I like it but I have heard complaints about it on here before

Go by Time Out sports in MT Pleasant they have a Native Watercraft Redfish 12’ for 549 to 599 new and is a nice yak I have an older 14’ Redfish
Ok yea I remember seeing some decent kayaks in there the last time I was there. If I’m not mistaken maybe Charleston Watersport has some decent ones too? Not sure though.
I’ll check it out, thanks y’all.

2fast,
There is a Pungo 100 on Myrtle Beach Craigs List, listed this morning. Kind of short, but rigged for fishing. It is $500. Dont know what they sell for new.
Make sure you paddle a number of kayaks before you buy one
Dont just base your decision on the $ you will have your kayak for a long time and want to be sure it fits your needs
