hey im from the coast and dont have much experience up here on the lake for stripers…wever been puttin in at jakes…not much luck…any advice on how and where…what to look for… thanks in advance
I live near Jakes, but I dont launch there(too expensive). I usually go to the other side of the Dam and use the SCE&G ramp. I like to catch the stripers schooling(hitting topwater), but sometimes must find the fish on the fish finder 40-50 down. They usually hang out on humps or off points, but smetimes right in the middle. Sometimes they use coves to heard bait into. When all else fails, you can go to the towers and drop down(however deep) a live herring and get a bite. Seems like the tower on the end is the best for me. Some people troll with lures and planer boards. I am sure you will develope your own methods after talking to others and seeing what works for you. Good luck. Keep in touch.
