If you can go sooner it would be better. Offshore Charleston fishing is generally kind of slow in late July. May and June are the peak months. On this site you will get all kinds of advice (bad to good), find a buddy boat the day you go, knowing a couple of boats helps alot as the bite moves around alot. We went yesterday (6/22), had heard the bite was deep (3 days ago it was shallow) so we went deep, worked out near the 380 hole and the ocean was dead, ran into 140 ft near the 300 line and the dolphin bite was hot. So you never know.
