I guess I shouldn’t have been so quick to push the search function…
One quick fun time on a budget… Hit up Wally world and pick up a heavier set up, get some of their frozen squid and shrimp and go to the broad river pier. That’s the old hwy 170 bridge. It’s public and free and plenty of parking. Fishing on the bottom you never know what you may catch day or night. You’ll also meet some pretty cool people fishing off that pier/bridge that won’t mind sharing some advice/tactics.
The port royal walk way is a good public place to fish from the bank and also climb the “look out tower”.
Some great surf fishing off Hunting Island.
Boot2salt, there are a lot of inexpensive options to catch some fish with out the use of a boat. BUT. having one does open up a lot more options.
Once you get settled in, I have no doubt that you’ll find several more Marines that love the sport and you’ll have a ton of invites!
