what are you fishing for?thats first.when you know what you want to catch, then ask these guys where you can catch em.my friends have been catching spottail bass up and down the cooper, from brackish down
to the creek at hanahan. sc surfman
The striper forum might not be the best place for you to get info. Most SC stripers are landlocked in Lakes.
Welcome aboard and good luck. Coast has great trout and reds inshore and near shore as well as sheapshead.
Try contacting ctoolman on the board, he is also new, and a quick learner, and goes all the time on weekends. He probably has room on his boat and is a nice guy.

Boston Bob,
WELCOME TO THE SUNNY SOUTH, you are gonna love it.
Saltwater stripers are more in NC. Most of what we have here are landlocked stripers.
The best lakes are(not in any order) Murray, Hartwell, Lanier(ga), Russell, Clarks Hill( aka Thurmond but that is a long story).
There are some striper in the rivers but nothing like you boys catch up North.
Most of us use live bait and slow trolling with electric motors and the fish will average 8-15lbs. We do catch them up to 30-40lbs (not me yet) and the state record is 59lbs out of Hartwell.
Just let me know if you need any more information.
By the way they are also in Santee but that seems to be more of a catfish area than anything. In fact it was the first place the realized they could live in fresh water when they got landlocked after building the dam years ago. If I am correct the “GREAT” Roland Martin claims to have “discovered” them.
Welcome and this is a great place to find information.
Best thing in the lowcountry is inshore for reds/trout/flounder. The reds fight as well as the stripers and you can catch them on somewhat light tackle
