I read a lot of fishing forums and your right cape, this is the only board where I ever see anyone acting like that. He’s probably the guy trolling the reports pages ready to throw “nice report” at the guy that accidentally posted something in the wrong spot.

If your going to be a prick why even post anything? The guy asked a question and you blasted him. Instead of growing this community comments like yours run new members off or keep them from contributing and posting reports down the road when they do get things figured out.

Geez - what a sensitive bunch here.

It cuts both ways doesnt it?

If you are too lazy to type in “Haddrells” in google, then p!ss off.

Come on people!

Stop rewarding laziness!!

I wont go into the “ole” days where you had to hang around the docks for years just to get a sniff of information on whats hot, methods, etc.

I understand many folks expect instant information, gratification, etc with the least amount of effort.

OP’s original question was fine, however making a forum member post a physical of Haddrells rubbed me the wrong way.

I ain’t mad at ya,

Well low T or no T i guess it dont matter sorry for rubbing you the wrong way but i know sometimes people miss type or miss spell things like myself included and may have misspelled that bait store so in order to make sure i could find the place i just asked for a little more info just incase it was a typo not everyone is perfect. I am just a guy learning the way around down here not trying to piss people off or cause them to give up or even ask them to ghive up and honey holes i know how to fish for some types i have never done any cobia fishing in the 42 years of fishing and was just looking for some help. I dont see why this has worked you up to the point that you where at when i did the first post. Cant we all just get along and catch some fish.Thank you all again for the warm welcome and I always welcome good sound advise and pleasant people to have a beer with.

Hey love2fish - A few tips from me. 1. Ignore the a-holes on the site. 2. My favorite bait for Cobia is Greenies, catch them at the rips on the Broad River if you are river fishing. 3. If you go to the Broad there is no secret spot since there will be 60 boats lined up at the Turtle, and the rip at the Bridge, and probably another 30 at the Cobia Hole. 4. I usually fish 4 down, 1 under a balloon and one free lining, as long as it is not going too crazy. 5. Some may disagree, but don’t bother with mullet as bait, I have found that Cobia don’t like them, even with fins clipped. 6. Keep a rod rigged with a large buck tail if you see one cruising by. 7. Don’t keep more fish than necessary for a few nice meals. 8. Let me reiterate to ignore the a-holes on the site.

hey man thanks let me know if you ever need someone to buddy up with i might be able to learn somthing your boat my boat i dont care if i hitch a ride from you i would pitch in for some gas or we could go in my boat just ask the same in return. I dont have many rules on my boat 1. NO A holes 2 see rule number 1

  1. Those are the rules I live by pm me your name and number 2. I’m not moving back to HH until August, but I know a little about these waters. 3. We are always looking for someone to split gas with when we go offshore so you’re more than welcome to ride along, we’re not the best but we seem to learn a lot when we go and always come home with a lot of meat. 4. I’ll let you know how/where/when we catch Cobia Sunday ( I have a bet with my gf if she catches her first Brownie Ill shave my nasty two week beard) so I’m hoping it will happen!

Cool will do when i get home from work

Go to shem creek landing on a sunday evening, during a ripping tide if youre looking for a good fistfight. Thats probably the best advice i can give HAHA. **** was crazy this weekend.

See there ya go always got one in the bunch this guy is proubly like 12 years old hides behind his daddy and brings a gun to a fist fight what a guy !!!

me? lol. i dont know enough about cobia fishing to give advice- hence i didn’t offer any advice on cobia fishing. I DO in fact know from first hand experience to stay the heck away from shem creek on weekends now… I’m fairly new to the area too and had i known this information it would have saved me a lot of hassle. Got into 1 fight-was over fast, watched my 4x war veteran brother beat the living crap out of someone being a drunk, getting aggressive with him over nothing (on memorial day nonetheless) and watched 2 other fights sitting on the anchor waiting to dock…for over an hour…

I was actually being serious. I am an adult male who you probably wouldn’t want to run your trap to at the boat landing. Drunk, “this is my backyard boy” and fat “grouchy husband” found that out the hard way sunday night.

Not everyone on here is a prick. If you ever decide to venture offshore and would like to talk vertical jigging- i will offer any advice i can. But for now i will leave you with the reiteration of- stay the heck away from shem creek on holiday weekends, and use punctuation in your messages.

(i had to throw the last one in there. You emasculated me and misinterpreted my post so i need tp get at least a gentle shot back) haha.

thanks for the 411 i have never been jigging have always prefred to troll always looking for new ways to catch fish i guess you are never to old to try new things welcome to the area and let me ask you or anyone else that knows the area is there a boat ramp that is not real bad with tidal current

love2fishdeep,
The biggest thing that I have learned is to search the topic on the website. Sometimes it takes a while to sift through the posts to find the tangible information, but it works out in the long run. I take that and ‘cut and paste’ it into my own files for later reference. Good luck with it, I have been trying to get a cobia for 3 years now and have gotten 1 short so far (that was with a guide). One hint, if you go to HHI, you need a variety of bait. One day they want eels, the next greenies, the day after it may be pogies or whiting, you just don’t know.
