New Waccamaw Fly Fishing Club

We’re planning an organizational meeting for those interested in starting a Fly Fishing Club in the Horry/Georgetown area. We are thinking about having our first meeting at 6:00 PM on January 20th 2010 at Long beards Bar & Grill in Carolina Forest

i can kick in on the ride. we need a short bus from down my way. hope we can talk em into migrating a little farther south or at least near the water. maybe we could schedule an occasional joint meeting with the chuckie boys.

Meeting locations. Anybody have other suggestions as to other possible locations for the meeting. Do you think it would be better to have the meeting in the same place each time, or move around?

Any suggestions for the name of the club? Right now we are calling it the Waccamaw Fly Fishing Club, but this is just for starters…

We had a great turn out for the meeting tonight. Probably around 30 people made it. We will have our next meeting on Sunday February 21st at 2PM. We think we have the location, but will wait to hear from Steve Thomas before we say for sure. If we cannot have it at Hobcaw, we will look into another location. Thanks everyone that came out tonight! Amazing amount of enthusiasm tonight for fly fishing at the meeting.

You guys might want to try Shell Crackers at A Dogs Way Inn behind TBones in M.I. They have a nice set up inside and out on the lake and would be glad to have you guys! I am over the M.I. Bass Masters and we put on a tourny every thursday afternoon out of Wacca Wachee Marina! They let us use their docks out by the Tiki bar for the weigh-in we start the first thursday after the time change and run till the end of sept. so if there is anything I can do to help just let me know and everyone is welcome to come join us it is open to the public Thanks Tony!

Thanks for the tip. We are looking for places to meet. I liked Longbeards but no meeting room inside. Will be nice there in the summer outdoors but for now we need something else.

GOFISHSC!Shell Crackers is having a big throw back party tommorow night from 5 until with free pig pickin and chicken bog that is open to the public! The party is based on the good ol days for all the people that hung out around the inlet bars back in the 90s from Sand Pipers to Charlie Floyds should be a great time! Some of you guys should come by and check out the place I feel sure you would enjoy it! I am the chairman for Ducks Unlimited Kids Green Wings! We have all of our D.U. meetings and fishing club meetings there and the owner is a member as well just a good all around crowd! Thanks Tony
