A good friend, Mark Z, from Nantahala will be down in two weeks. He is new to kayak fishing. He will be staying on Folly and is looking to do some creek fishing. I am steering him to this site. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Laird O’Neill
Oneill, launch at Folly Landing or the Marina and fish those dock pilings and creek mouths on the Folly side between the bridge and Stono Inlet. The Creek that runs up behind Mariners Cay under Folly Road at the Anchor Line Resturant holds trout and some reds. Go back under the Folly Bridge and work to the left. There are numerous oyster flats that strech from just after the bridge to the lighthouse at hold at lot of reds. Tell him to fish the shell banks adjactent to deep water. Good luck!
Thanks Marshmellow! He would probably like to link up with someone local. He is an experienced whitewater type and could tell some lies about "There I was on a class 5 with these secretaries from Peoria when …)He needs to know about dodging Serays in the ditch and stuff. Laird
Last year i put in at folly creek, across from Crosby’s, You got to carry the yak down some rocks and at low tide it sucks. May be productive yakfishin if timed right. In retospect it might have been smarter to ask permission and toted the yak across folly rd. and launched there.
good luck!
