ok, i bought my first yak a couple months ago, its not a made for fishin yak but i have added some t-rod mounts and what not, there is no bait tank, whats the best way 2 carry live bait? should i get a bait bucket that i can suspend in the water, or use a bait net?
Also… i am stationed in GA, do yall know if SC has military discounts on their fishing liscense, also, where can i get one near hunting island?
bring em in
I just throw a bait bucket over the side. Not sure about a discount on the liscense, but its only $10 for saltwater. I think they renew on June or July 1 or sumpthin like that. Probably find one at ant dept store or bait shop, campground may even sell them…

the only “discount” they give is if you have orders that show your duty station is within the state they will let you get a resident license. Otherwise you need a SC drivers license to get resident priveledges.
Unless they’ve changed it very recently it looks like you’ll be paying for non-resident fees.
The less people know about how sausages and laws are made, the better they’ll sleep at night.
Look into making a ‘bait tube.’ Basically a short length of pvc with end caps and lots of holes drilled in the sides. Less drag than a flow troll. Check kayakfishingstuff.com . good luck! -pb
