Posting for my son-in law that lives in Mt. Pleasant. He was recently given a new kayak and wants to get with somebody up there to learn the ropes. A guide is NOT out of the question.
Anybody do this? He is well experienced in all things outdoors so he is no newbie.
Have him give Toobusy (Tommy) a shout here on the forum he has a kayak guide service and can get him headed in the right direction, literally Guided kayak fishing trips 843-217-0271 Kayak Fish SC
I live in Mt. P and would be happy to share what little I know. Have him send me a PM, either here or on sckayakfishing.com. We can work out a time to hook up and go fishing.
If he’s looking for the guided intro to help learns the in/outs in a kayak I would most definitely say ditto to what 5151 said, call Tommy. You cannot go wrong there.
He’s more than welcome to give me a call. I share information with launch points, where, when, and how to fish pretty openly. If he wants to book a charter, great; if not, no problem.
He should also join the South Carolina Kayak Fishing forum. We’ve got a great group of guys over there and there are monthly meet and fish gatherings.
He could also head to Copahee Sound or Paradise Landing on ANY Saturday or Sunday and bump into fellow yak fishermen.
Just click the link in my signature for more info on what I do at Kayak Fish SC
Thanks Too Busy - I believe he will be in touch. He has been directed here to follow this thread and look around. Unlike some of the Charleston Boards - this one is more like the BFT.-HHI boards that I frequent - its all good.
g8rnsc,
I will be at Paradise Landing this Sunday, going to launch around 8am just before the high tide. I am new at this myself about 3 months but would answer question on things like rigging and equipment I have learned from here and the meet and fish days with the other yaker’s from SCKFA.
Haha, yeah me and him are best friends, that was the last time I was up in that area, I have heard that he is always in that creek first one the right … he is very large
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.
