I’ve read guys reports on CharlestonFishing.com where they said they actually got tired of catching redfish after they had caught so many in one trip and left them biting; and I would always think to myself, “Yea, right”. Well, I owe those guys an apology. Today was the best fishing day, freshwater or saltwater, that I’ve ever had in 67 years. I caught 17 big redfish in one spot just off the ICW behind Sullivans Island. 12 of the 17 were over the slot and 2 or 3 were pushing 35-36"; and this was from my new kayak. They were all caught in 2 1/2 feet of water at dead low tide on Gulp Jerk Shads and flutter hooks; and the trick was to just let the shad rest on the bottom and twitch it once in awhile. This was the first time fishing from my new kayak and I was able to go places that my 17’ Mako never thought of going. Got to figure out how to rig up a camera on my kayak. What a great day. I can finally say it, " I got tired of catching redfish today and left them biting".
Wow, sounds like fun. I’ve been thinking about getting a kayak, I take it you highly recommend it?
thats the advantage about kaayaking… especially with your sick ride
