A buddy of mine I decided to put in bushy to go catch some spot tail trout and flounder couldn’t get a bite so I said let’s run to the harbor and get some bait for sheepshead we pulled up to the spot lost a couple good ones right away and then we hooked up on a couple ended the day with a seven pounder and then the other four were over 15 inches cant complain about starting the new year like that
Those are some beasts! I’m going with ya next time! Good work!

Not trying to be rude or anything but any smart fisherman won’t give up their productive spots on a free to read Internet forum.
For every person who posts on here there are hundreds of people who read and learn.
That said, sheepies this time of year are somewhat split between inshore structure(rocks/pilings/ledges/trees) and nearshore reefs. I catch less fish during the winter but the keeper-short ratios are much better generally.
It’s my experience that you will have better luck by changing up baits and using clams/oysters/mussels/barnacles etc to see what they’re eating.
Hope this helps and Good Luck!
Good work as always Nigel!

While I agree some people do read and learn, we all had to learn it from somewhere. Or like in my case I have 4 boys and live almost 3 hours away so it’s not feasible to test every area and develope the same knowledge. With that being said it is “Probably” best to just PM someone with a question like that. Just as I have done before and will probably do again in the future.
As one of three boys that dad took fishing you are giving them a gift that they will cherish their whole lives.
You’re absolutely right that a PM asking for a general area is totally within reason and encouraged on here especially when you’re bringing young guys along.
Some people will be more secretive than others but ask and you shall receive. The only reason I responded to this post is bc I have a pretty good idea where these fish were caught and would like to continue catching fish in this area.
Just didn’t want any exact locations being shared on free-read straight from Google searches. LOTS of people read this site outside of its members.
Thanks sellsfish i try to do what i can i dont know any spots on land but i would try the mt pleasant peir
