New Zealand

On the way to the Antarctic via New Zealand again. I only had an afternoon free - conditions weren’t promising.

And traffic was brutal.

Then the bridge was sketchy so we made our own way across.

Things started looking better so we made coffee.

And got underway.

And I mucked up the first fish we saw… naturally. But the next one was happy to take a dry. Glass is not dead.

Forgot the net, so we improvised.

See the fish?

Fly change.

Traffic was just as bad on the way home.

Asian takeaway - the King Kong burger. Two burger patties, fried chicken, two pieces

That’s special, thanks for sharing.

Awesome jerms. The pic #7 up from the bottom with the set is one of my favorite pics Ive seen from you - or anywhere

Beautiful pics, very jealous of that adventure. Looks like really great fishing.

In Australia about 20 years ago now, I had a burger a lot like that at a gas station short order place on the way from Sydney to Wollongong. I said “all the way, no onions” (same in the US) and it had all of that plus beets. I was confused, but none of my local friends were, normal to them supposedly. I ate it and except the beets, it was a solid burger.
