Hey everyone i am new to the area. I moved here from Western MD. I lived on a lake that i used to catch anything from bluegill to muskie. I did a little saltwater fishing while i was in the airforce a few years ago in Virginia Beach. I am anxious to get back out on the water again. I dont have a boat yet and am not going to be able to buy one that i can tell anytime soon. If there is anyone willing to give me directions to a good spot to catch some nice fish from the shore or a pier I would appreciate it. And if anyone ever needs some extra help on a boat I would gladly pitch in some money for fuel and any other expenses. I work for Boeing and get every other weekend off at the moment. I plan on going to the Mount Pleasant Pier tomorrow to try for some sheepshead. I read that they are in there. Thanks in advance everyone.
G Y - Pick up some fiddlers from Haddrels in Mount P on your way to the pier. Good luck and keep reading the inshore report section as well. You can pick up some great tips.

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely have to do that. Are there any places around here to catch my own fiddlers with easy access?

High tide stay a little less than halfway. Lower tide 3/4 of the way down. Watch the Asians. And most important fish beside the pillars
Thanks again for the advice. I do have one more dumb question that i should know the answer to. While fishing today i tried a few different methods of fishing with a fiddler. How is the proper way to hook them and what kind of rig should i use?

All you need is about a 1/0 owner hook tied to about a 12-18 inch leader tied to a swivel (carolina rig) and enough weight to position the bait where you want it ie straight up and down next to the pile. Keep a tight line and if you feel any weight set the hook.
Goin yard,
When I fish I go all the way to the end of the pier, I hook them through the body and poke just enough of the point through the shell to see it, I learned that trick from a wise man at Haddrells
GY,
If you ever need some help please come ask us or get us to show you anything you are interested in learning. We will do our best to help you get on some fish this time of year. If I can help call me or email me.

Take em out to one of the local piers and fish the pilons. Sometimes you can see the sheepies there. I have taken a dive weight and lowered it down to bash some barnacles to get their attention. You’ll need some tough high strength braid to keep from losing your line on a fish that runs in through the pilons. Some of the piers have nets you can lower to get your fish up. You can also surf fish fiddlers for a variety of fish just past the breakers with a “carolina rig” or typical surf rig.

I grew up in MD and went to college at Frostburg, have some friends living the Deep Creek Lake life! Have been in the Carolinas for about 20 years now. Put the boat away for the winter and only dock fishing now. Hit me in the spring and we’ll get out on the water for some fishing, maybe even a little catching!
anyone ever fish the dock at relmley’s point? I am heading there tonight to try for some reds or sheepshead in that area. I have a vehicle now so i am trying to find as many decent spots as i can between now and tuesday. Once Tuesday comes it is work work work. I may be able to go out after work a few days a week but not sure exactly yet.

How did Remleys go, I have heard of people catching sheeps there but have never tried myself …
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

I didnt catch anything. not even a nibble. i was there for the outgoing and incoming tides. went home took a nap and went back out to pitt st and had the same luck. probably didnt help that there were dolphins in the remley area.
