I first saw a chatterbait being demonstrated in Columbia at the Sportsman’s Classic many years ago. Bought some before I left that day. Called a good friend who also fished tournaments to tell him about an amazing bait I saw there. He said “ Let me guess, a chatterbait. I already bought five of them there this morning!”
I won the next tournament I fished throwing only a chatterbait. They are still good baits.

I think it’s total bullshit and extortion.
My Scottish ancestors came here in the 1880’s and had nothing to do with it. Actually, they were treated worse than the slaves.
I don’t think I am responsible for the sins of my great grandfather’s.
I also don’t think that at my age they’ll ever get a nickel out of me regardless.
So for me it’s a non issue designed by one party or the other to either stimulate a big response or tickle the brains of the weak minded
