We need to have a “lake courtesy” meeting. It obviously doesn’t do any good to get to a spot early this day n time. It was more than just one person it happened to today…
I do not really understand what you are trying to say. Please clarify.

sounds like to me someone came in on them and started fishing…
I was told when it comes to tx fishing sometimes you gotta play more defense than offense.
Unless someone comes in and is driving all through your boards/lines it is your job to keep them off your spot, thats kinda how i was taught…Hope the above doesn’t offend anyone but just my .02 on the matter.
And no it was not me who “crowded” anyone to get my whopping 17#'s of fish…ahahahah

Well Rick…we was sitting there waiting on 6:00 and someone came within 50ft and stopped rt in front of us. Then put there lines out… after hollering and asking what we was doing in his spot “boy”. Just ki da thought it was really unsportsmanlike. Some ppl will do anything to win, worse part is that junk takes the fun out of it.

Was this a midlands striper club member? We have a club member that thinks the Lake is his to fish only and he cut me off in Bear creek a couple of years ago.
I need to clarify a miss type…it was 50 to 75 YRDS away. Still way to close…I’m not gonna call names but yea, he is a member.

Don’t stop now keep it coming! Great entertainment, It ain’t no different at the 226 hole off Edisto Banks! Had a Grady cut in front of me less than 50’ nearly hit him , he made me cut off all his lines! Then he hollars at me, all those lines and baits ain’t good for the running gear on my inboards! Had boats cut off fish many times! People just don’t have respect any more!!
Men’t to saw something about jetskies before I hit the button, has any one else had experence with the cutting you off on PB and freelines
I’m not in the club, and don’t know the guys involved. But… in my bass tournaments we aren’t allowed to “cut” anyone off or cut just in front of someone and start fishing. It’s simply not allowed. That being said, any complaints must be brought to the tournament director at our weigh-ins. I understand the frustration, as we fish quite a few lakes, and our rules only apply to boats in our tournaments. I have had to change my plans and locations many times in the past due to another boat being on one of my “sweet spots”, whether they were in my club or not. I think this discussion would have been better handled if it had happened at your weigh-in.
I agree with Spoon. A face-to-face discussion at the weigh-in would have been much more appropriate.

No tangled lines, no foul I say…if you want to claim a spot as yours, anchor on it…otherwise dance and communicate your intentions with the other boats…i will sometimes fish a tight circle to keep someone off a spot. If i am circling then my intentions are known… but if someone works there way in, then good for them…lol You can try and make all the rules you want but in the end nobody owns any portion of the lake unless they anchor on it…Now if you pull baits in close enough to tangle with someones lines that are anchored up, you should be blasted… but if boats are pulling lines, then they just have to learn to share the space.

If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…
I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…
When I joined the club 7 years ago it was a distance posted in the by-laws for club members to stay apart, but the way MSC change rules and By-Laws its hard to keep up. I see no one person has a spot on the lake to call his, but if you are fishing and some one cuts you of or throws a bait close in on your boat, I feel that I woul take care of the problem myself. I think that a paying tournament for you pros and a regular club monthly tournament should not be held at the same time. I think the club has had problems with big money before with the rolling big fish pot. I do not fish in the monthly tournaments any more but this is my thought.
I pretty much agree with Woody. If anybody ever comes to fish a spot I am fishing, here’s how I try to operate… I try to fish with another boat the same way he fishes with me… if he comes out to “my” spot I’m trying to fish, and gives me room and tries to stay “in the area” but doesnt cross me up and tangle me, I try to give him the same margin. If he parks right in front of me or crosses my lines I just maintain my position and course… if I run over his lines, boat or whatever else, so be it. It is all “Golden Rule 101” to me. I can honestly say I have never had a bad problem with another club member. The last tournament I was able to fish, another member came out of a creek and fished the same point I was on for just about the rest of the day… we never had an issue. I would wager that two boats fish the same immediate area in every tournament. As long as they don’t interfere with each other’s course or lines, I see no issue. I have been known to lose my temper with some fishermen that have cast across my planer lines, caught my cork rod in their motor, even invited one on my boat[:0]… but that’s another story. But they weren’t club members, unless they were in disguise.
I have no problem with somebody getting behind me and pulled lines on the same spot(that’s actually what I was doing)…what aggravated me was if I would got any closer I wouldn’t have had my lines out by the time I went by the point and it wasn’t 6yet. So I was waiting… then someone cut in between us(me and the boat I was in line behind) and went across the point we was waiting to fish.I understand it wasn’t “my spot” so I guess I’ll have to verbally explain my intentions if someone does it again!!! Lol
