Next week

A friend and I are coming down for 2 or 3 days next week during our spring break to try some inshore fishing. I am looking for some tips on what to try as far as what to look for and what to use for bait and rigs. Thanks in advance

Anybody have tips on bait and rigs and what to look for as far as where to find fish?

Start at low tide with cut mullet. Stop of at haddrells point and they will set you up. Good fishing on the incoming right now.

Thanks. I will stop by there when we come down

Are there any extra things required in saltwater that aren’t in freshwater? Such as safety gear or anything

Flares and a noise maker whistle ect.

Make sure to get a saltwater fishing license 10 bucks will save you a hundred. Try to fish the first few hours before and after low tide for better chances, take a couple rods and fish a Carolina rig with live or cut bait on one and use the other as a casting rod with artificial (trout trick, mirror lure slow sinking) or live bait under a popping cork. Fish around creek mouths, oyster mounds at low and marsh lines as the water comes up. The fishing has been slow and bad weather is expected this week so it will probably make things worse so don’t expect a lot of action. Also people could offer more help if you let them know what area you where planning to fish, Folly, Stono, Wondo, the harbor.

We came down Monday but just got to go out yesterday afternoon because of the weather but we are heading out in just a minute. We are fishing out of isle of palms. We caught 4 small fish yesterday that almost looked like little redfish but I don’t know if they were. Thanks for the help

Probably whiting. They are plentiful and easy to catch.
