Nice day fishing out on the Stono

Kimmy and I fished a creek off of the Stono today, close to the JI airport. Beautiful day out in our new Sportsman 207 bay boat that we got right before the boat show a few weeks ago. Saw a few mullet jumping and some dolphins chasing some fish, some fiddler crabs and minnows. Beautiful day, only caught a stingray bottom fishing with cut squid. We tried mud minnows top and bottom fishing, as well as cut mullet. No bites but a beautiful day and got the fever now. Wappoo cut boat landing looked like a Walmart parking lot, with every Ahole in Chucktown in our way…

It was a joke, I tried to post a video of the stingray that we caught but it didn’t post. I thought I had caught a nice red, but it turned out to be a stingray…Will change the title now.

Great day to be on the water KK.

First boat?

We climbed around the Sportsmans at the Cton boat show in Feb and really liked them. My challenge is going to be finding a boat that satisfies my desire to fish some skinnier water while at the same time has enough room and comfort for the family/friends to cruise.
The new Key West (I think it’s like a 203 DS or something) is really beautiful and would fit those needs but it’s $$.

No, not at all. I have had sport/ski boats in the past. A Donzi sweet 16 and a Sea Ray 180 years ago. We started getting into fishing/shrimping the past couple of years, so its our first CC type boat. We are having a blast.
