Nice dolphin and wahoo..

Talked about going fishing Friday morning. Barely got a crew together. Left the dock 4:45 a little bumpy the first 15 miles off the rocks. Dropped lines in about 165 feet trolled out to 400 feet. Not one bite… Decided to push in shallow got back to about 250-200 feet and found a nice piece of drift wood. Last chance for success. Trolled by it first hit 30a tld screaming on the way back. Handed the newbie the rod. Then the left outrigger starts screaming. Another nice dolphin jumps out the water. About that time the line gets caught on the rod tip off the left flat line. Pop… Lost him. We fight the dolphin to the boat. Great fish for a newbie. Took a pick while he still had color. We got lucky to find the drift wood again passed back by bent butt goes of wahoo. We hand the rod back to the newbie he had enough after getting him to the boat. Lost the drift wood after that one. Caught 1 more 15 pound dolphin and 2 sharks. Pulled up at 3 back to the dock and loaded by 5. Slow day but great fish.

nice catch…

Dang, why don’t you go out and catch the big ones next time? lol, that’s one sweet catch!

Great bull dolphin. Just like the decal on the bait well. Nice job guys. We should have stayed on the ledge instead of screwing around with a few billfish in 2000’.
