Night Fishing

Anyone have any tips for fishing at night when dock lights aren’t present? I already have the safety equipment/lights covered.

Any spot you catch fish in the day you can catch fish at night. Reds bite good at night. Live finger mullet or cut mullet.

Thanks 40, I’ve posted this question in a couple different forums and haven’t received a single answer haha. I did, however, net some mullet and trap some bigger mud minnows this evening and have them in a 5 Gal bucket with an aerator till tomorrow evening. I plan on hitting the water at 7:00pm and fishing into/thru the night during the outgoing tide.

I asked Capt C.A. Richardson this question on one of his live feed shows the other month. He had suggested using black/purple lures (they cast a silhouette under moon light) or extremely bright pink/chartreuse at night and something that creates a lot of vibration like top waters or large paddle tails.

Thanks for the advice 40, caught a few reds around 1:00am low, largest being 20.75"

Yeah ive caught some at night bouncing jigs off the bottom. I think topwater could be good.

Just as 40 suggested. Live and cut bait will produce. Think scent, vibration and noise. Anything that would typically induce a sight related strike is not likely to be effective in any area w/o lights.

Dark color top water on new moons produce well in fresh water. Might have same results in salt.

Two 4 four green lights are ready,Rods rigged with red lighted bobbers,Going the night of the 11th and fish the ICW.
