Nobody ever talks about fishing at night on these forums. Aside from flounder gigging. In Texas, we fished for reds almost exclusively at night. Anybody fish reds at night around here? Is it legal? Appreciate any ■■■■■■■■.
Yes it is legal here. I have always done very well wit reds at night. Usually around the harbor or inlets bu usually they are large fish. I’m a bait fisherman so can’t say about artificials. I normally use live Mullet or Pogies, and fresh cut bait works good.

If you can stomach our search function you can dig around a bit and a lot of info on Night fishing has been posted on this sight. Look for docks with lights or set out a floating light to attract bait fish. Very productive, just most people don’t care to fish at night… imo. Unless gigging for some flatties. I’ve fished of my relatives dock at night and it may possibly be more productive than daytime fishing. If nothing else, you can certainly catch shark this time of year at night.
