NMEA 2000... Vmax150 on HDS Lowrance

Anyone here run the engine readouts for their Yamaha on the HDS units? Do your console gauges still work as well? What all gauges do you get to see with the standard interface? Any help is appreciated!

I ran the nema 2000 with yamaha f250 into garmin 4208 and lowrance fish finder. What year is your motor? I think yamaha after 06 are nema 2000. The lowrance nema cable plugs into motor and will interface with garmin and lowrance. They are all same plugs.

System worked great, got fuel info, hours, oil pressure, engine temp. I could display it all on both screens.

Thanks for the info! I have an 06 Vmax…

Another question I have is did you you run the cable all the way to the motor or did you disconnect the console gauges and plug in under the dash there? Is that even an option? I have read the asterik that says to use the trim indication a ‘yamaha qualified’ tech must install so I guess to utilized that I would have to take it to Chas Marine, but it seems like the rest I can do myself. I purchased the Yamaha cable and nmea starter kit yesterday and I will be attempting the install today

It is the carbed model…I read somewhere it didnt work on all mods so called yamaha and the guy took my motor info and told me it was command link compatible…on another forum I read to use the connector on the starboard side of motor but all the 4 pin plugs on the starboard side are already used and look slightly dif than the one on my yamaha cable too…also there is an unused 4 pin connector under the dash labeled ‘to motor’ but the new one doesn’t fit it either…looks like you are correct again man! Maybe the yammy guy got one of my numbers wrong…I had high hopes lol

carbed motors do not have a computer
if you don’t have a computer, there isn’t anything to interface
